The rivalry between BT and Clean over the Daytona models is heating up. After BT introduced their Daytona watches, Clean quickly responded by enhancing their Panda Daytona. Recently, BT upgraded their Daytona collections to the V2 version, focusing on two major improvements. Firstly, they adjusted the length of the three subdial hands. Secondly, they aligned the 60 triangle marker at 12 o'clock on the bezel with the crown marker on the inner bezel and the crown logo on the dial, a detail that many enthusiasts appreciate. BT released numerous Daytona models simultaneously, prompting Clean to expand their Daytona line-up as well. Last week saw the introduction of their first yellow gold Daytona, followed by a second model in yellow gold. With BT and Clean actively competing, the Daytona is poised for continuous enhancement in the market.
Design and Quality Observations
Having acquired the first golden Daytona from Clean, which boasts a yellow gold face, I find it superior to the Daytona models previously made by Noob. While every super clone has its imperfections, my main critique of the yellow gold Daytona from Clean is the alignment issue between the crown logo and the central second hand. Customers often seek perfection in this detail, yet it is challenging to achieve, as most pieces have slight deviations to the left or right. It's advisable to have your dealer select a piece that aligns as closely as possible.
Customization and Market Demand
The latest yellow gold Daytona features a black dial, and Clean offers various rubber band lengths, providing five combinations for different wrist sizes. Each Daytona from Clean is equipped with a rubber band suitable for wrists measuring 16cm to 17.2cm. If your wrist size falls outside this range, you should request an additional pair of rubber straps from your dealer. Note that Clean prices these rubber bands quite high. Despite the presence of BT, Clean, and the new Noob in the market, the demand for the super clone Daytona remains unfulfilled. Interestingly, prior to launching the yellow gold Daytona, Clean had released a gray-faced version with a rubber band, which currently experiences longer wait times compared to the newly introduced yellow gold Daytona. This might indicate higher popularity and a backlog of orders for the gray version.
