Design and Appeal
This timepiece has caught my eye, and if I didn't already own an IWC Portuguese, the Rolex Cellini would be my next purchase. It exudes the elegant simplicity and understated luxury I seek. Among Rolex's lineup, the Cellini isn't the most popular model. Its appeal might lie with younger individuals aged 30 to 35, who may prefer it over the more traditional Datejust, Daytona, or Submariner that cater to seasoned professionals. The Cellini, with its luxurious leather strap, offers a unique style that stands apart. What truly captivates me about the Cellini is its distinct dial design.
Manufacturing Excellence
In the watch industry, both GM Factory and KZ Factory are known for creating top-quality replicas of the Rolex Cellini. This particular model is also crafted by GM Factory, but today, I will focus on the version from KZ Factory. There seems to be little to no difference between the two, although GM Factory might price theirs higher.
Case Construction and Details
The case of this watch is crafted from 316F stainless steel, not the 904L variant. It features a substantial rose gold coating, measuring 5 mils thick. The case diameter is 39mm, with a thickness of 12.3mm. The rose gold bezel is fluted at the edges and polished to a smooth finish on top. The solid case back is plain, with only minor engravings on the back of the lugs.
Dial Features and Functionality
The white dial is rich with information. Different concentric circles convey various details: the outermost circle indicates the date, with a central blue hand pointing to the current day. Hour markers, in rose gold, complement the case's hue. The minute circle sits centrally, and a large moon phase window, rotating monthly like the original, can be adjusted via the button at the 8 o'clock position.
Unlike the Datejust or Day-Date, the Cellini does not provide immediate date information on its dial, which might deter some potential buyers. Nonetheless, the unique dial design of the Cellini 50535 Moon Phase is what draws me in. It faithfully replicates all the original features with impeccable craftsmanship.
