GF's Expanding Influence
GF is increasingly gaining prominence, offering high-quality replicas of various Swiss brands. I initially became aware of this factory through their Breitling Avenger watch, now in its V4 version, which remains highly sought after. In the realm of 1:1 high-end Breitling replicas, there aren't many manufacturers, as Breitling's popularity has waned. However, from my perspective, GF stands out as the producer of the finest Breitling replicas.
Design and Build Quality
The highlighted Breitling Chronomat B01 model from GF is a recent release, introduced just last month. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, I haven't had the chance to visit the watch market recently, so I am unsure about the number of new models available. Thankfully, the outbreak is under control with only a few cases reported.
This new Chronomat has a 42mm diameter and a case thickness of 14.5mm. It features a robust stainless steel construction for the case, bezel, and bracelet. Upon receiving it last night, I noticed its substantial weight. The brushing and polishing on both the case and bracelet are impressive. A quality replica can often be distinguished by the tactile feel of its case and bracelet, especially when running your fingers along the corners and edges.
Movement and Features
The blue dial features hands and hour markers coated with luminous material. The watch includes three subdials, all black, functioning just like the genuine article. The small seconds are displayed at the 9 o’clock position, while the 3 o’clock subdial serves as a 30-minute chronograph counter, and the one at 6 o’clock as a 12-hour counter. Activating the button at 2 o’clock sets the large central red hand in motion; pressing it again stops the hand, and the button at 4 o’clock resets it to 12 o’clock. The subdials and buttons on this replica are fully operational, ensuring a true chronograph functionality.
Value Assessment
The bracelet has a distinctive design, with each link resembling a bullet, which isn't particularly to my taste. In terms of pricing, GF has set a high premium, with costs approaching 600 USD. Whether this price is justified for a Breitling replica is up to personal discretion, but the quality offered is undoubtedly top-tier.
